Prairie train

Posted by
Andrea (Regina, Canada) on 19 May 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I actually posted this shot last summer, processed in hdr. But I decided to go back to it and blend two exposures instead to see which I like better. (And I think the white balance is a bit more realistic here.) Your thoughts?

I am equally happy to hear what you don't like about my photo as what you do like!

I like how you captured the train in between the buildings.
I like this one better, less dramaric sky and nicer with the darker tones on the buildings

I do think this one has a better white balance. Both are good, but the previous one seems to have more of a purple color cast. Great work here, Andrea!

This image is beautiful!!! and yes i agree that this version is better - the darker tones in the grass and buildings are what make this one great! also i think the sky has a softer beauty to it. I think the sky and the texture of the buildings and grass make this such an awesome image for such a simple scene! well done!!! :-)

This version wins with me, too . . but it is a cleverly-timed in itself.

The richness of tone and colour here gets my vote

Those old buildings were so interesting that I didn't notice the train. Good capture!

Great Photograph! The train in the DOF just ads to the uniqueness.
